Firstly I was killing off easy prey… Easy prey means the skills wont go up with much speed, but since I was putting the avatars away everytime I used them, I figured id get some skills summoning them back… worked fairly well…
Then I just cracked and lost patience… I started joining the fights and didnt release the avatars… that way I managed to kill 5-6 EP before I ran out of MP and had to rest… After leveling a few times I felt guilty for my shitty skills, and spent a small eternity summoning Elements…
Seriously… This job MUST start to kick ass at some point…

My empress band wore just as I crawled over to lvl 16… ok, before I try SMN again, im gonna have to look up some solo guides or some crap like that… I could barely solo a EM dhalmel without risking my life… and it took forever !!! Like resummoning Carbuncle for 3rd time before bastard Dhalmel died… thats just horrible… I need more skills… MORE SKILLS!!!

It sucks. It never gets good. :X Carby all the time for low levels and don’t bother with DC or EM mobs. >< Even for any 10-20 job soloing EP mobs are quicker to kill and give more exp over time. I only want my smn to 20 so I can solo some avatars for myself. It's more of a "cool effect" job than anything usefull. XD

Actually, leveling up SMN can be pretty fun
I did level it to 40 to get a Voyager Sallet. There’s a point between the Dunes/Qufim that if you pull Fenrir it will have 0 avatar cost, just like Charby. Don’t know what level. But if you get Refresh from FoV you annulate the mp cost.
Tip: fight worms. You can stay as far as you can, and when you summon another charby after the previous one dies, it will run straight to the worm. Its a nice way of leveling up (i did that in Maze of Shakrami).
Ye, Im gonna try worms next time, least they cant hunt me down and kill me XD
