Sotel has been putting his anni ring to use on COR, and I got the pleasure of helping him get his AF hat, the Corsair’s Tricorne… the AF for COR is wicked, I just love how it looks… We skedaddled to Arrapago Reef with the intension of killing a BLU and a WAR on a Cutter… mmkay…
Of course I havent done any of the COR quests, so I had no clue why these 2 had a grudge against Sotel or what was going on really… but they were pissed… guess that will be a secret until I level COR myself… So Sotel, the walking wikipedia that he is, fed me some fun facts about them… such as… they cant be silenced and they cant be slept…
They would share the hate, so when Sotel jumped the galka, I could para and slow the hume and just chill until the galka was dead… then he would slap the hume, assisted with some Bind’s and Grav during 2hr, kite him alil until 2hr wore and then kill him dead… Masterplan…
As illustrated above their hate sharing wasnt as good as we thought… I took a couple of punches too the face, and I took it like A MAN !!! … Actually stoneskin saved me there… galka died to fast for me to panic and start running like a crazy person… Sotel saved the damsel in distress, and we took care of that pesky hume…
He was not happy he died by the hand of a Corsair…

Lamia Fang Door is annoying and takes a while farm a key…
OH! and save a couple of million gil first before leveling it!
:X You don’t need to farm the key! D: You can get one for free every conquest tally near a pond in Caedarva Mire. + Dyna pay pretty much covers the cost of bullets, that’s if you get payment for going anyway.
Oh yeah. When I did this fight, that WAR was a bitch. Took my hate out on the galka though lol tachi:rana + gekko = dead. XD
But that’s the problem you can only get one key from the ??? per tally… the AF weapon requires you to go to the ??? in arrapago reef twice that’s 2 keys worth. Once for the start and 2nd for the last bit…. then once you get to level 50 you have to go there twice again! once again one for the start of the AF quest and 2nd for the end… depending on how fast you level and for COR it’s fast with all the party invites >.>.
But you could end up doing the quest the same week, hell i did it 2 days after I had done the AF Gun on Monday lol
I guess I didn’t speed level as much as you and the fact that I did the AF weapon on a sunday morning so I only needed to wait about an hour. xD Though you can get there without the key by going to a different staging point and running from there, though I forgot which one.
Illrus atol or somin it’s called, there’s 3-4 imps just outside the staging point and 1-2 flayers half-way on the way to the ship too, thankfully their True Hearing has a very short range if you stay some 6-7′ from them you can get past easily unless you end up using magic or a job ability lol
Oh forgot to mention that you could get a Key belt once per conquest telly that gives like 5 Skeleton Keys free, you can use to pick the door for the end half of each quest lol.
